With sadness we announce the passing of Leighton Perry at the age of 88 years. Leighton was the youngest son of Clem and Lucy Perry and spent his life farming at Balzac after taking over the family farm originally homesteaded by C.W.Perry.  He always found the time to be involved in various community organizations, and served as trustee and chairman of the Rocky View School Board for many years.  Wherever help was needed, Leighton was there to lend a hand.

He will be lovingly remembered by Mary (his wife of 28 years); son, Phil (Star); grandchildren, Zack (Chelsea) Licudine, Hayleigh Perry, daughter Marilea (Norm) McCaw; grandchildren, Chris (Mandy) Minhinnett, Kari (Ben) Carnduff; 5 great grandchildren, Kolby and Bailey Minhinnett, Jaret and Emilea Carnduff, and Lily Shaw; as well as extended family, Dave (Carol) Shaw, Gord (Stacey) Shaw, Janice (Brian) Young, grandchildren, Sandra, Stacey, Tyler, Riley Shaw.

Leighton’s family would like to thank Bessie his companion at Newport Harbours Care Center, as well as the staff of Newport Harbours and Unit 81 at the Foothills Hospital for their kindness and care shown.  Please join the family for a Celebration of Leighton’s Life at the Balzac Hall on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
