Patrick “Pat or Paddy” Skwarok passed away June 3rd, 2026. Pat is predeceased by his parents Mike and Betty Skwarok and will be remembered by his family: Eleanor Skwarok his wife of 37 years; Daughters Erin Skwarok, Tara (Cody) Hendriksen, and Ally (Casey L) Skwarok; his grandchildren Libby and Richie Hendriksen; his siblings Donna McCullagh and Ricky (Annette) Skwarok.
Pat was born in Langley, British Columbia and grew up at the family service station at 248th and Fraser Highway, then the TransCanada. From there his lifelong love of cars and problem solving was born. In early adulthood he dabbled and learned many different skills and trades before finally finding his career in the wood preservation industry, co-owning Western Wood Preservers. He met his wife Eleanor in 1986, and they bought a house in Aldergrove where they lived and raised their three daughters. Pat was an active man who played slo-pitch, golf, and loved to walk in nature. He spent countless hours at the soccer, baseball, and rugby fields watching his girls. Pat loved being retired and spent his time travelling with family, going on dream trips to Africa, South America, and Europe or visiting the zoo with his grandkids.
Family and friends were everything to Pat, he always had the time for anyone who wanted a chat and even more time for those who didn’t. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. Pat was a skilled hunter and fisherman, spending his whole life in the bush teaching others his natural talents. He loved being in nature: he was always willing to go for a walk, he loved camping, swimming in the pool, and tending to his garden. Pat was an excellent cook. He loved trying new foods then teaching himself to make it for the family. He was always quick with a “Dad joke” and was kind and generous with everyone who knew him.
There will be a Celebration of Life on July 4th at Hendriksen’s Farm (5845 112th Street Delta B.C.) from 2 to 4pm. Everyone is welcome to come and share photos and memories of Pat. The family would like to ask those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the British Columbia Children’s Hospital Foundation.
