Patricia Wood
November 2, 2025
It is with much sorrow that I announce the passing of my wife, Patricia (Pat) Jean Wood (nee Cooke) on November 2, 2025 in Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, British Columbia at the age of 68. The cause of death is complications related to pneumonia. Pat is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim, her son Kevin Wood, daughter-in-law, Andrea Rokosz, and her grandchildren, Rossin, age 7, and Locke, age 4. She is also survived by her brother Paul Cooke (Pam)of St. Louis, Missouri, her twin sister Pam Smith (Brian)of Aurora, ON, and their children, her sister, Penny living in the Bahamas (Dirk) and their child, her sister-in-law Anne Green of Mississauga, ON (Harry) and their children. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Ron and Jean Cooke, her brother, Peter Cooke, and her in-laws Jimmy and Jean Wood.
Pat was born in Etobicoke, ON, March 21, 1957 but for the most part grew up In Richmond Hill, ON. She attended Richmond Hill High School graduating in 1975. We were married on August 20, 1977 and lived in many places including Guelph, ON, Aurora, ON, Birch Bay, Washington, and White Rock, BC. Our many moves brought so many interesting and diverse friends into our lives. Pat will be missed by them all.
She left us so quickly and way to soon. Kevin and Andrea and the grandkids will miss her so much. I cannot even measure how much I will miss her. She was my life.
Pat was never a showy person. We will announce plans for a Celebration of Life closer to the end of November. It will be a simple celebration and Pat would want it to be upbeat not sad and sombre. Please come with your fun memories. In lieu of flowers, you are more than welcome to make a donation to the Surrey Hospital foundation (surreyhospitalsfoundation.com) in Pat’s memory

Messages of Condolence
My deepest condolences to the Wood family. Pat, I miss you already, who is going to remind me to keep my head down (golf joke). ~ Joanne Wilson
I will miss you very much Pat, and will look after Jim while you’re gone. ~ Wayne Parent
We lived just up the street from the Cookes and it was great fun as our four were much the same age as their five. Years I wouldn’t trade for anything as we played on the streets till the lights went on and later got into the shenanigans that teenagers do.Pat Pam, Peter, Paul, and Penny were all a big part of our youth My condolences to all of her family. 68 is too young ~ Pam (Brown) McDivitt
Pat, what can we say...you have left us way to soon but happy memories (and fabulous meals) will keep you in our hearts forever ❤️ ♥️ ~ The Green family
Pat - John and I are both saddened by how soon and suddenly you left us. Even though we knew each other for such a short time, I always enjoyed our get-togethers, over lunch, during and after golf whether at ladies league or with the boys. I am so glad that we met and will miss and think of you always ❤ ~ Deb Smalley
