PARKER, Stanley William
Sept. 6, 1937-July 21, 2022
Stan passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the age of 84.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Marge; his daughter, Susan; his son, Keith (Becca Ulrich); and stepdaughter, Michele Green (Hal Larson). As well as his sister, Ann (Steve Rozak); his brothers, Jack (Helen) and Ken (Rose Ann); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy Schroeder (Jerry); sister, Sheila Hare (Brian); and brother, Glenn (Sylvia).
Stan grew up in Edmonton and after high school he did a stint in the Air Force Reserves as a mechanic. He held various positions at the Bank of Montreal during his 35-year career. Upon his retirement he started a handyman business that allowed him to do the type of work he loved most until Parkinson’s symptoms interfered.
He married Marjorie Diane Haworth in Lethbridge in 1966 and they had three children in Montreal before moving to Calgary in 1977. Together they built their dream cabin at Pine Lake, where Marge remained his faithful helper until the end. Stan loved his Pine Lake neighbours like family and will be mourned by many in the community as a reliable, wise, and occasionally very funny man. The family would like to thank Sandra Kohut for her ability to always make him smile.
We will be hosting a small Celebration of Stan’s Life on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at his cabin at 1:30pm.
Memorial Donations may be made to Medicine River Wildlife Center in honor of his love of birds and animals. (https://medicineriverwildlifecentre.ca)
