It is with such great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved dad & Peprre Joe Paquette. Dad was such a special man with endless energy. He began his career at Fraser Mills at age 14 ½ . During his years on the job, Dad worked swing shifts all the while raising 4 daughters. Along with his family, he meticulously kept his hobby farm, large garden and lawn, as well as his cars and animals in the best condition.
Many a Saturday night you could hear dad calling a square dance, or mom and dad were on the dance floor somewhere or deep in a card game at one of their many friends. Sunday mornings up early, dressed in our best and off to church and often treated to lunch afterward.
Dad and mom belonged to several different parishes where they were actively involved in fund raising. Dad loved Country music and always trying to organize a jam session.
In 1985, dad and mom bought a ¾ acre lot in 100 Mile House, B.C. The Hills Guest Ranch nearby learned of dad’s skills and asked him to take charge of their Wednesday and Saturday evening hayride. Over the next 14 ½ years dad figured he gave some 32,000 happy clients a ride to remember either by wagon in the summer or sled in the winter.
When it came to ice fishing, the rum flowed better than the Kokanee fish, but it never stopped dad and mom and their gang from having lots of fun.
2008 brought dad back to the Valley and before long he moved back into Pioneer Park. Once he volunteered for lawn duty at the park where every blade of grass stood in perfect order.
Dad was extremely social with so many friends and family. There was always a lunch, dinner or visit with someone.
So now we day goodbye dad, from your daughters and families. Happy Trails!
