Shawn Matthew Cory Okeeweehow

It is with great sadness that the family of Shawn “Kiwi” Okeeweehow announce his sudden passing at the age of 27 on Saturday, December 16, 2023 after a very unexpected and rapid decline in his health. Shawn is survived by his daughter Kitana Okeeweehow, his parents: Darrell and Donna Ullrich; his siblings: Dwayne Pelletier, Chrystal Hotomani (Brendan), and Joseph Longo (Kitiara). Shawn loved all his nieces and nephews but held a very close bond with his nieces Aiyanna and Braelynn Cyr; He will always be remembered as their favourite “Uncle Kiwi”. Shawn also leaves to mourn his special Aunt Colette Kitzul who was like a second mother, as well as best friend Justin “JT” Toniello who was more like a brother to Shawn than a friend.

 Shawn enjoyed spending time with family and friends; he was also an avid gamer and his friends were either hassling him to get on the game to help them out or yelling at him to get off the game because he was too good at what he did. Shawn will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He was truly loved and adored by everyone that surrounded him because he was such an amazingly kind soul. His witty sense of humour, contagious laugh, and loveable energy will be missed by family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His big sister is especially going to miss whatever random, useless facts he always felt the need to tell at the most random times.

 The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from those who have reached out, it is comforting to know how much Shawn was loved and respected. We are all so grateful to have had a man like Shawn in our lives; he will be sorely missed.

 A private celebration of life with close family and friends will take place at later date.
