Norman Kent Skene

Known to family and friends as "Kent" was born on December 29, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario. He passed away on February 26, 2026 at the age of 83 in Vancouver, BC.

Kent is survived by his loving wife Diana, his son Todd (Sherry), grandson Arjun, sisters Kathy (Jimmie) and Karen and many nieces and nephews.

He grew up in Willowdale, Ontario where he attended Earl Haig High School and continued on in business education at Ryerson University. He had a long and varied management career in Information Technology (IT) specializing in system implementation in the Financial industry.

Kent had a passion for sports, being quite proficient at baseball (catcher) and hockey (for 65 years). In later years he enjoyed golf and curling and background acting. In his late teens and early twenties, he was in the RCAF Reserve 400 Squadron and was a distinguished member of the RCAF Honor Guard Drill Team. He loved airplanes, his favorite being the Canada CF-105 Avro Arrow.

Kent's kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him. His family and friends remember him as a man of great integrity. Anecdotes from loved ones capture his love for life and the positive impact he had on those around him. Family and friends meant everything to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Golden Eagles Golf Club, 21770 Ladner Road, Pitt Meadows, BC on May 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm. We invite family and friends to gather, share memories, and honor a life well lived
