William James "Jim" Nicks

With deep sadness and hope, we announce our beloved husband, father, papa, brother and uncle went to be with his Lord on October 20, 2012 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, AB. He will be forever missed and cherished by his loving wife, Isolde; daughter, Melissa (Ron) Hagg; adored grandchildren, Emma and Bennett; sisters, Ruth Hunt and Peggy Nicks; sister-in-law, Gertie (Will) Vandenberg; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Jim owned and operated J & J Publishing and Clear-View Maps. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Carolyn Owen, Jodie Granville and all the staff at the Tom Baker Medical Daycare Unit who helped dad after his diagnosis of MDS over 2 years ago. We also appreciate the compassionate care of those in units 57 and 47. Funeral services will be held at Varsity Bible Church (4807 Valiant Dr. NW, Calgary AB) on October 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
