Kenneth Norman Myers
June 18, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Myers on June 18, 2020 at the age of 58 years.
He passed away surrounded by his family. Ken is survived by his “buddy” Angela Mergl; children Alina and Keenan; granddaughters Kirah and Ariah; mother Yvonne Myers; brother Chuck (Colleen) Myers; sisters Laura (Tracy) Gardiner and Louise (Vince) Behm; brother-in-law Angus (April) Reszel and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Roy Myers and his sister Brenda Reszel.
Ken worked at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre as Maintenance Services Manager. In his off-time he enjoyed dressing up as a clown riding his unicycle with his clown friends at the Swift Current parade. He enjoyed travelling and many special memories were made. His children and grandchildren were his world.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ouattara, Dr. Zacharias, Dr. Sy, Jodie Hills and all the nurses at the Surgical ICU at the Regina General Hospital. We so appreciate your compassion during this difficult time.
Due to the present circumstances involving the current COVID19 pandemic, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, Wascana Rehabilitation Centre or to a charity of one’s choice.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Messages of Condolence
While only having the opportunity to work with Ken for the past few years, I appreciated his pleasant nature and calmness under pressure. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues and friends in Facilities Management with SHA.

OH my goodness.!! .. .. this is a sad sad day.. I worked at WRC for just over 2 years, though not closely with Ken. I knew him from my many visits for assist in maintenance. My condolences to his family and all his close friends. I am sure he will be missed by many..

On behalf of the Continuing Care Team at Wascana Rehab Centre, we will miss Ken, he has been an integral part of this organization for so many years. This is an unexpected and tragic loss and our hearts go out to his family and loved ones. He was a key partner in many changes and improvements to help support the a great environment for residents to live in and access other services. His easygoing approach and friendly nature will be missed by both staff and residents.

I first met Ken in 2015 and had the pleasure of working with him up to mid 2019. Ken always greeted everyone with a smile and consideration. He was proud of his work and his team and never stopped learning and trying to do better. I’ll miss his sense of humour and our chats in the basement of WRC. Deepest condolences to Kens family.

Ken was a great individual who always gave his time and interest in all work in and around the WRC. He was always professional in his dealings with both facility user groups and service providers and maintained intimate knowledge and information on the facility he so carefully managed. Ken enjoyed live and that attitude was transferred to everyone he befriended. We will all miss you Ken. Condolences go out to all his family and friends.
