Eileen Naomi Murray

Eileen, born in 1924, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Dave” Murray (1987). She is survived by her children, Nancy Shiyoji (Kenny), Don Murray (Bonnie), Janice Brahniuk (Randy) and Eileen Poepperl (Ralph), grandchildren, Ryan (Arlene), Cory, Shane, Lindsay, Lianne, Deena, Scott, Allison, Matthew, Nikki, great grandchildren Marcus, Derek, Jace, her two beloved sisters, Betty Roy and Edna Pierce (Burns) and many nieces, nephews, friends.

Eileen enjoyed working at BC Packers, knitting, bingo and walking to Steveston daily before she moved to a nursing home. She spent time in Birch Bay over the years and loved her trips to Reno and Hawaii.

Thank you to the staff at Fraserview Intermediate Care and a special thank you to Dr. Quelch.

A private Celebration of Life to take place at a later date. Donations may be made to Alzeimer’s Society of BC.

Eileen: So sorry to hear about your mom. I know we have not talked for a long long time but I just wanted to let you know I am thinking about you and your family. Hopefully there will be an advertisment in the Richmond paper about a celebration of Life service for your mom I would love to come she was a really special person, she always made me feel welcome at your house. We feel your sadness today with the passing of your dear Mother/Sister/Auntie/Nana/Friend...she was one of a kind and we will miss her very much. We hold fond memories of Eileen from the past 30 plus years, at the bingo table, the Birch Bay Trailer, and the many family gatherings we attended. You all always made us feel welcome and we truly did and still do feel the warmth of extended families. Let the coming days and months keep the memories of Eileen happy ones and may she rest in peace. Sincerely

Our condolences go out to all of Eileen's family. I will miss my visits with Eileen at Fraserview. But we can take comfort knowing that Eileen is now at rest and free of any pain. My favorite memory of Eileen will always be that of seeing her walking to Steveston along Moncton St., and me driving by, honking, her waving and never lifting her head to see who it was or ever missing a step.
