It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Murray Wiens on July 24, 2026, at the age of 74.
Murray shared nearly 53 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Leslie. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. He was a devoted husband, an incredible dad to his daughters, Vanessa and Angela, and a proud grandfather to his beloved granddaughter, Taylor, whom he affectionately called "T-Bone." His family was his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Murray was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in providing for his family. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures: spending time at the cabin, tinkering in the yard, tackling projects around the house, and sharing adventures with his family. Whether it was trying his luck in Las Vegas, setting sail on a cruise, or simply enjoying a day outdoors, Murray appreciated the moments that brought people together.
Everyone who knew Murray will carry their own special memories of him. Some will remember his quick wit and sense of humour, while others will remember his willingness to lend a hand, his quiet strength, or the calm and steady presence he brought to every room. Whether through a shared laugh, a thoughtful gesture, or simply time spent together, Murray left a lasting impression on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Derrick; his beloved dog, Fluppy; and his brothers-in-law, Rick, Rolf, Gary, and Larry.
Murray will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Leslie; his daughters, Vanessa and Angela; his granddaughter, Taylor; his mother-in-law, Dorlynn; his sisters, Marla, Marilyn (Mike), and Debi; his brother, Barry; his sister-in-law, Judy; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
In keeping with Murray's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honour Murray's memory by spending time with those you love, sharing a story, or making a donation to the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Though he will be profoundly missed,
Murray's love, strength, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. To share in some memories of Murray, please visit the link below:
