MORRISS, Barbara

Barbara Morriss passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Barb will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Chris and Dave; daughter-in-law, Tina; grandchildren, Victoria and Richard; brother, John; sisters, Anne and Mary and numerous friends. Barb was predeceased by her husband, Walter; two brothers, Geoffrey and Robert; and two sisters, Merle and Pamela.

A Private Graveside Service was held at the Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe, AB on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 am which was immediately followed by a reception at the Gwen Bader Fitness Center in Lacombe, AB.

The family sends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated health care professionals for the care and attention given to Barbara. The family is also appreciative of the support given by Barb’s friends.

Messages of Condolence

I met Barb at the library card class, and looked forward to working on the same cards. Barb always managed to bring the group together, and it didn't take long to know of her love for butterflies and her dislike for yellow!! She spoke often of her wonderful daughter-in-law and sons - she was extremely proud of the wonderful things Lady Anne sent, and we all were in awe of her talent! I was fortunate that I was able to converse a little on her web site and to receive some very special pins, they are a treasure and cannot bear to part with any, so use for my own albums. I will never see a butterfly and not thing of Barb, whether it is a sticker, a stamp or flying in the garden. She will be sorely missed at card class and mostly I will miss her impromptu visits after getting a Treasure from the Post! She was inspiring!!
