G. Stewart Mitchell

G. Stewart Mitchell (Badger), of Francis, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 96 on September 15, 2023. Stewart was predeceased by his parents, Evelyn and George, his sister Beryl, brother Gerald, son Keith, granddaughter Paige and great-granddaughter Harper. Stewart is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris, his sons Jim (Lu) and Jeff (Patty), his sister Myrtle, 6 grandchildren, Lindsay (Stacey), Remi, Amanda, Tyler (Brittney), Bethany (Casey) and Alexandra, and by 8 great-grandchildren, Quin, Hunter, Levi, Izaiah, Nehemiah, Zemria, Dominic and Harlow, as well as by several cousins, nieces and nephews, and by his sister-in-law, Elaine. Also left behind are dear friends who are like family, Lorna & Ron Muhr. At Stewart's request, a private service will be held after Harvest.

Badger was a great man. I will never forget the time spent with him on the FARM with the horses and the annual sleigh rides! Putting me on a horse for the second time in my life and slapping the the backside and yelling hang on!! Oh wonderful funny memories. I oftentimes find myself thinking back on the time spent with my Grandpa Stu, on the farm and sitting around the table, and all the lessons he taught my sister and I, as we watched him and our Grandma growing up. If my son grows up to be even half the man you were, I will be so, so proud. We miss you so much, Grandpa. I hope you and Dad get to see each other again.
