Mary Miller

Mary slipped away peacefully on June 9, 2013, 2 months shy of her 98th birthday.  Mary, 9th generation French Canadian is predeceased by her eldest daughter, Betty Doddridge, in 1997; brother Henry Trottier in 1985 & sister, Helen Hogg, in 1997.  Mary is survived by her only son, Bobbie (June), of Wainwright and youngest daughter, Marilyn, of Calgary; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Born in Edmonton, Mary & her 2 siblings were raised by their father, Fred Trottier, on a homestead at Dowling Lake - their mother, Jennie Louta, from Finland died when they were youngsters.  Mary  married George Miller & lived in Hanna until her move to Calgary in 1966. Mary was a shy lady who loved nature & kept her sense of humor up to her 4th last day.  Thanks to all the staff at Cedars Villa Care Centre and a Very Special Thank You to the Larkspur Day, Evening, Night and Activity Staff.  Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Osteoporosis Society of Canada,  Currie Barracks, Suite 104, Bldg B8, 2526 Battleford Dr. SW, Calgary, AB T3E 7J4, 1-800-463-6842 (227).
