James Richard McKay
December 13, 2012

Jim was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba and moved with his wife and three young sons to Calgary, Alberta in January 1980.
He leaves behind to honor his memory his wife and high school sweetheart, Bev; his three sons, Ryan (Kaarina), Trent (Leanna), Scott (Stephanie), and grandson Kailur. Also surviving is brother Robert (Bob) and his wife Stella Fedeniuk; mother-in-law Mabel White, and his nephews Jason and Landen. Jim is predeceased by his parents Frank and Peggy McKay and sister-in-law Barbara White.
We have come to know just how memorable Jim has been to the many colleagues and acquaintances in his almost 40 year career in IT. On his behalf we thank each and every one of you for the many cherished memories and stories shared with us, his family.
At Jim’s request, the family will have a private service to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers or donations, it would be Jim’s wish that those who knew him spend extra time together with their families this holiday season.

Messages of Condolence
Dear Scott, I am in Calgary for Christmas and heard from my Dad (Richard) about your Dad's passing. I am so sorry to hear and hope that you are spending the season surrounded by loving family and friends. My heart goes out to you and your family during this time. We are all thinking about you and your family here. Take care, Jenny "P" ~ Jenny
Bev Haven't seen you and Jim in years but it really doesn't seem all that long ago. I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing and wanted to extend my condolences to you. I hope all your wonderful memories help you through the days ahead. Joan Jordan Plante ~ Joan Jordan Plante
Hi Bev, We (Ray and I) were sorry to read about Jim’s passing in Calgary Herald on Saturday. I actually can’t believe it, as Ray and I were just discussing you a few days ago and then out of the blue, we see this... Bev, I heard rumors that you were living in Calgary but never knew for sure. I’d love to get together with you if you have some time and are up to it. I am retired (as is Ray) and we’re living in Airdrie – So anytime would suit me. Once again, we are so very sorry and I do hope you remember me. My email is sjmcclean@hotmail.com and I am not on any other social media sites. Hope to hear from you... After all these years. Jean ~ Jean McClean (nee Sienko)
Just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about Jim's passing and that my thoughts are with your family. I worked closely with Jim years ago and the memories still very regularly put a smile on my face. He will be greatly missed. Gregg Ferguson ~ Gregg Ferguson
I am so sorry to hear this. Jim sent me an email last year and my computer shut down and his address was lost before I could reply. I just found him on Linkin and learned of his passing. Jim was a good friend throughout high school, I think I was accepted as an "honorary" geek only because I played the violin, never had the smarts to understand how brilliant he was. Together with Rob Schneider, Richard Patterson, and Wayne Hemminger, I enjoyed many evenings at his house when his mom and dad would make everyone feel welcome. Richard will probably remember a harrowing ride in my old Rambler.... Sounds like Jim carried on the loving ways of his parents. Please accept my most heart felt sympathy for your loss. sincerely Sig Martin ~ Sigmar Martin
Hi Bev. I don't know this message will go through or not. I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I had a great 3 years with Jim while in high school together. I was trying to track down some of the friends that I hung out with at BCI and until I ran across Jim's Obit was getting discouraged and then even more discouraged at his sudden passing. Being a guy we really didn't keep in touch like todays' youth, but it would be great if we could touch base. Have been living Alberta since 1983 ~ Don (Rob) Snider
