Kenneth Morris McIvor

Kenneth was born in Calgary on Oct 27, 1938, and entered God’s eternal rest on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, aged 83. Ken enjoyed spending time with friends and family and sharing stories of his travels as a corporate pilot of over 35 years. He was an avid golfer, loved sailing and caring for his dogs. In retirement, he was happiest helping others, and volunteered weekly to assist with maintaining the King’s Fold Retreat and Renewal Centre. He served on the Board of Governors of Mission Aviation Fellowship and supported their ministry around the world.

He is remembered by his loving wife, Carole McIvor, to whom he was married for 62 years; two daughters, Janine (Dan) and Michelle (James); son, Trevor (Tania); and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Don McIvor. A Memorial Service will be held at Varsity Bible Church, 4807 Valiant Dr. NW, Calgary, AB on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM.

I was so sorry to hear the news about Ken. Yes, he has 'entered eternal rest' ~ but it's always hard for those left behind. He was a true gentleman who reflected God's heart of generosity and gentleness. I loved hearing his stories and prayers ... and he shared with such a twinkle in his eye. Ken is as good as they come. Kind, generous, servant…he loves taking care of people and making sure their needs are being met, especially practical things around the house and vehicles. He is greatly missed.

Carol, I appreciated the opportunity to house sit for you and Ken at a transition point in my life. You were both so kind. On your return, you gave me a stay at Kings Fold as a thank you, a place I already knew and loved. Since then, when I've returned, I've looked for signs that your tenancy as librarian has continued, which I've been delighted to see. What a wonderful way to live in retirement, a long commitment by both of you to a house of healing. I hope that that beautiful space will give you rest for your soul as you grieve.
