Reverend Samuel J. McGuffin 0f Calgary went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, July 8, 2012. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on July 13, 1927. He is survived by his loving wife; Jean, daughter; Fay (Cliff Unger), sons; Donald, John (Marie), Patrick (Kathy), grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; Jean (Alf – deceased), Margaret (Jack) of Ireland, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Pastor Sam served several churches in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. At the time of his passing he was a retired Christian Missionary & Alliance Pastor. A Funeral Service will be held at Crescent Heights Baptist Church, 1212 – 1 St. NW, Calgary, on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110 Ave. SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of AB, Suite 100, 119 – 14th St. NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.

My condolences to Sam's family. Sam was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of numerous visits, and chats with Sam on the phone over the years regarding his "insurance" needs and inquiries. It was always a pleasure talking to him. This world has obvously benefited from Sam's outgoing nature and his compassion for others and all living things. He will be missed. Cathy(Co-operators)

My thoughts are out to the Family. I got to now him he was my granfather and agreat dad to his children. He never really got to see me grow as well as me raise my children
