I am so grateful that I was able to connect with Aunt Beverley, Lisa & Lonnie. Although I was only just getting to know my Aunt Beverly, I feel like I have known her my whole life (must be the DNA) Such a warm and compassionate lady and looking into her eyes reminded me so much of my own mom Gloria. Learning about all the places she lived over the years which were so close to where my mother lived makes me think how much God was still in control even though the circumstances looked so differently. Aunt Beverly, I am so glad I got to meet you and because of what Christ has done on the cross for us, I will get to see you again. Lisa & Lonnie... I am so sorry for your loss but again, I am glad to have found both of you. Your long lost cousin, Corrine

Since way back in the Coquitlam days, living on the same street as the McDonald family it didn’t take long before Lisa and I became great friends. We remained close all the way through school, playing sports, celebrating birthdays and eventually graduating together. We grew up and apart to later reconnect which I am so grateful for. This allowed me the opportunity to spend more time with Bev too. Throughout the years of getting to know the family I remember always thinking Bev and Mike were the happy couple, their love did not go undetected. They always seemed so much younger and hip compared to my parents. Bev was so good to Lisa and always supportive and understanding. She would spend quality time with us. Bev loved to take us to White Pine Beach, where we could swim and she would float and become even darker. We frequently went shopping to the mall. Bev was definitely fashion conscious, always well put together with a girlish figure. I always admired how she took great care of herself. Bev would often find bargains while working at Sears. Lisa and I would get so excited and couldn’t wait to see what treasures she had found. Bev was the “cool” mom with great taste in clothing and accessories, she always had a funky hairstyle and often helped Lisa and I with our style. She was always happy, loving and so positive. Her and Mike would often be watching TV, sports or the news would be on. There was music playing quite often when I popped in. Mike would break into opera when singing hello to me. Lots of laughs…. I remember when Lisa and I brought home (stole) a little dog and Bev took us back to where we got it to ensure it was OK to keep her and sure enough it was. They took her home and named her Sheba, providing her a much better life with her forever family. So many great childhood memories. Even with Bev’s health challenges over the last several years she never complained. I truly believe her positive attitude is what allowed her the extra time. She certainly wasn’t about to miss celebrating her 80th. I am very grateful I was able to see her beautiful smile and the happiness that special day provided. It truly meant the world to her being able to go out for dinner to celebrate with her amazing family and friends on her birthday and she was able to enjoy her favourite meal “sliders”! Bev was not only the parent of my friend she too became my friend. She went from being Mrs. McDonald to Bev once I became a mom. Lisa and Bev would take the trip out to Aldergrove to come visit me and my first born. I truly cherish those memories. Bev I truly appreciate all you put up with when we were young and wild. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you. When I see the hummingbirds at the feeders I immediately think of you and that will never change. You are finally at peace, fly and be free just like the birds! The love and kindness you offered me throughout my life will be cherished forever. I just wish we could have had more time. Dear Lisa and Lonnie, Bev was a one-in-a-million wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a kind, loving, generous, compassionate and caring woman. Bev was my dearest friend for over 60 years. We shared a love of music and went to several concerts together over the years and I will always treasure these times as Bev was so much fun to be with. She also had a great sense of humour and had a joy of life that was infectious. Her smile would light up the room. Bev's positive attitude, I know, is what got her through the difficult times she faced. Bev was a beautiful person on the inside as well as the outside. I am so glad that she was able to celebrate her 80th birthday, although she certainly didn't look anywhere near 80 years old, and she really enjoyed that day. I will always treasure the times we had together and I will miss her forever but she will always be in my heart. I believe she is now with the the love of her life Mike!
