It is with deep regret that we hear of the sudden passing of your Mom. I have very fond memories of the stories she and my Mom would come home from work with along with the annual Christmas frenzy that would happen at our house. She would have my Dad make her "annual" rye and ginger-ale and we would all feverishly wrap gifts for all of you to be opened the following morning. I remember teasing her unmercifully when I lived at home and she would always give me a whack and tell me to get lost! Your Mom was a tough, tough lady who worked very hard to provide for all of you and I would suggest that she did a pretty admirable job. I will never forget that continuous smile that she always had and even when I moved up here to Creston, was constantly reminded of it with your Uncle Norm before he passed. Please accept our deepest condolences and prayers on your loss. Distance and time may have faded contacts, but rest assured that she will never be forgotten by us! I'd like to send my sincere sympathy to Irene's family. I met Irene many years ago as a flagperson working for Traco then Rogers/Shaw Cable.. I'll always remember our great talks about our kids, family and all the bad drivers out there! Irene had beautiful blue eyes that would always look through you.I haven't kept in touch with her for quite awhile as I've retired from Flagging and moved over to Comox. I'll never forget all the great bunch of flaggers that I've met through my 39 years of flagging. Irene may be gone but not forgotten. RIP Your old flagging pal Nancy Bales

I am so sorry for your loss. I have not only lost a very close friend, I thought of her and all of you as family. We shared so many things and spent alot of time together. I used to give her a bad time because she still had all her dark hair and here I am snow white. She lived everyday for her children and grandchildren. Xmas was her favorite time of year. She would start decorating right after Halloween. When I took her shopping, she would go down every aisle of decorations and would still add more to her large collection. I believe that Irene will still go on in her children and grandchildren and her memory will never go away. We have to believe she is looking down on us and wanting the best for all of you. She was a strong woman and she would want us to be the same.
