Dr. Robert McCulloch

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Robert McCulloch after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Rosetown, SK and predeceased by his parents George and Florence McCulloch. Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife Joan, his brother Bill (Debbie), his daughter Mindy (Dana) and his sons Michael (Jessi) and Mark (Anna). His pride and joy were his grandchildren Keely (Tanner Jeannot), Amy, Azlyn, Falynn, Sara and Kai.

Bob was filled with gratitude for the wonderful people that he came to know in his career. He worked at the University of Regina from 1975 to 2002 as a professor, Assistant Dean and Acting Vice President. He then became the President of SIAST from 2002 to 2012 before retiring. Bob loved all sports, especially the Riders and was appreciative of his many friends at the Royal Regina Golf Course. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Bob, was an incredible colleague not only for the many years that he was at the University of Regina, but also as a Post Secondary Education partner while he was at SIAST. I had the good fortune to work closely with Bob during his tenure at the University of Regina, where he was always industrious, reliable and cheerful -- highly respected and a true team-player. Bob was a congenial colleague at the office and lots of fun on the golf course. Lynn and I offer our deepest sympathies to Joan and family.

As a Dean working with Bob was a pleasure and a lot of fun. I remember after one of our "debates" telling him he was a solution looking for a problem, he was so committed to the UR that even now I think of our relationship with great fondness. Bob was truly one of the "good guys". I am so saddened to hear of his loss, to us all, and to his wife Jean and family. I'm sure wherever he is, someone will ask about a problem to be solved and the reply will be, " why don't you as Bob McCulloch", just like I used to!

My deepest sympathy Joan and family on loosing Bob. I worked with Bob in his early years as a Remedial Gymnast at Wascana Rehab. Bob was a kind and caring individual. He was an organizer from the very start arranging ski trips to Broadview. He was so much fun to be around. Over the years we had kept in touch with his work at the University and Siast. I would usually see him at Sask. Sport events. Bob was definitely one of the good ones in this world. My heart goes out to you and your wonderful family. God bless you all!
