Caster Maseko

We feel privileged and honored to have known such a great person. Caster, you will be sadly missed. Your smile, caring heart, and positivity will always be remembered. We know that you will be looking down on Marguerite, Matthew, Marissa, and Sarah with great pride and joy. We are so sad to see you leave this earth. To the Maseko family, please accept our deepest condolences and know that we are always just a phone call away.

Death has once more reared it's ugly head and robbed us of one of our finest!!! It was with utter shock and sadness to learn of Caster's untimely passing away. Caster, to some of us meant a lot, he took us under his wing when we first arrived here in Canada, Vancouver, to be specific. He taught us the ropes, so to speak. Caster and Marguerite opened their house to every new South African in town. They were both the greatest hosts that one ever came across, parties at their house were always memorable. Caster, to some of us, was not just a friend, but a BIG BROTHER, that was always there to offer advice when called upon. Whoever came into contact with him, was always met with a broad genuine smile assuring you that, you are in the company of a good friend that was not judgemental. He had that noble gift of making you feel like the most important person in the room. To Marguerite, Sara, Matthew and Marissa, all I can say is, you were very lucky to have Caster, as the loving husband and father. MAY HE REST IN PEACE!!!

Marguerite, Matthew, Marissa, and Sarah, I learned only yesterday (from Khulu) of Caster's untimely passing. So many people have remarked on Caster's warm, embracing smile, and that is one of his many endearing characteristics that I remember so fondly. He was such a kind and open-hearted man, and I am so sad to hear this devastating news. Although a long time has passed since I last saw you and Caster, the memories of all the happy times we had at your house are still warm. Have courage. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I was greatly saddened to hear about this. Caster was one of the first people I ever worked with in my professional life. He was a friend and mentor. Although life took us to different places, I never forgot him or his smiling, fun loving, personality. He was a good man, a kind man and perhaps that is all that need be said. I will never forget him or the lessons I learned from him. He may be gone from this world, but his light is in all the lives he touched.

Caster, I last emailed you Feb 2-2014 to tell you all about my travels. You replied back to me feb 26-2014 that you just saw my message and will respond. Little did I know that you were sick. Just last night I was at the Bay in Langley and came across a sales associate who mentioned she worked as an EA in Delta and automatically I thought of you. I mentioned your name and she soon told me about your passing. I was not believing what she said and emailed you and found you on fb but no reply. I then googled your name again and found this story about you. I am so sad, you are such an amazing person. Your wife, children and anyone that was in your presence was so blessed to have met you. I pray for your loved ones I know this is three years later but you were a very special person and I know you are there protecting your family and loved ones. Thank you for being such an honest positive person. May you rest in peace

Caster's memory will never fade away! Your immense kindness to us as foreign students in Vancouver, generosity and warmth, and Riti's kindness made it possible for us to think very fondly of you even now in our middle ages.
