It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Marg Leitner (Margaret Athey) passed away on November 13, 2025, at Irene Thompson Hospice in Delta, British Columbia after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Kamloops, BC in 1950 to Verna and James Athey. She grew up in East Vancouver, attended Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School and went on to study business administration at BCIT. She married her husband Garry Leitner in October of 1969, and they settled in North Delta. She worked for the Surrey School District until the birth of her children, Tara (1975) and Craig (1978).
She was predeceased by her son in 2023. She is survived by her daughter Tara (Scott), and grandsons Jorden and Dylan.
A private family gathering will be held.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the loving staff at Irene Thompson Hospice.
