Beloved wife, mother, and sports enthusiastOctober 1, 1949 – May 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Marg) Louise Dubé, who left us peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 75. A devoted wife, loving mother, fan of the Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions football, Marg lived her life with warmth, humor, and fierce loyalty to the people and teams she loved. Margaret grew up in Burnaby, British Columbia, where she built lifelong friendships and developed the strong sense of community and kindness that she carried throughout her life.
Marg had a deep love for good food, and nothing delighted her more than discovering a new sauce to try or perfecting one of her own. From game-day snacks to family dinners, her kitchen was always filled with flavor—and plenty of condiments. Christmas was Marg’s favorite time of year—she transformed her home into a festive wonderland filled with lights, music, and the comforting smell of holiday baking. She found joy in every tradition, from decorating the tree, baking her favorite treats, to hand-wrapping gifts with care and love. One of Marg’s favourite places was Cultus Lake where she enjoyed so many good times with Bob and her Cultus Lake family. Marg’s passion for travel led her and Bob on countless adventures. Whether cruising the open road in their RV, setting sail on the water, or soaring through the skies, Marg embraced every journey, creating lasting memories along the way.
Marg shared 33 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Bob Dubé, building a life with friends, family, and shared adventures. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bob, her children Jerry Yampolsky (Shannon), Jeffrey Yampolsky (Cara), stepchildren Dan Dubé (Maria), Catherine Dubé (Todd) and Michelle Favero (Gio), grandchildren Alex, Jessica, Sophia, Rachel, Oliva, Joe, Francesca, Aemelia, Braeden, great grandchildren Damian, Sterling and Charlie, nephew Rob Cook and son Jordan, as well as extended family and close friends who were lucky to know her.
A celebration of Marg’s life will be held on Thursday, June 26, from 12:00 - 3:00 PM, at Burnaby Lake Rowing Club Pavilion in Burnaby, BC. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey in Marg’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Variety Club, a cause close to Marg’s heart. Though she may no longer be with us in person, Marg’s love and passion for life will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. “Go Canucks Go!” — forever in her heart, now in ours.
