Ma. Rocelyn “Roz” Gonzalez, age 53 of Burnaby, B.C. passed away on November 6th, surrounded by her loved ones.
Roz was born on December 17, 1971 in Ilo-Ilo, City Philippines to Francisco Gonzalez Jr. and Evelyn Gonzalez.
Roz was born and raised in a traditional family, which shaped her into the strong, disciplined, and caring woman everyone knew her to be. While she was known for her straightforward and sometimes strict nature, those close to her understood that it came from love and deep values. She wanted the best for everyone around her.
Roz had a wonderful zest for life, she loved shopping and had a passion for make-up, not only for herself but also for helping her friends look and feel their best.
She was a homebody, but she also loved traveling, especially with her close friends, exploring new places, cultures and of course delicious food. Food was one of her great joys especially sharing meals with loved ones.
Roz will be remembered for her lively spirit, honesty, generosity, and the way she always brought laughter and light wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Roz was preceded in death by Father Francisco Gonzalez Jr. and Brother Felix Gonzalez.
She is survived by her nanay (Mother) Evelyn Gonzalez, siblings Joeart, Espie, Icko, Mark and ate Bing, nieces Izabelle, Ester Grace and Zia, nephews Joseph, Izaac, AJ, Ryan and Martin, sister in laws Emmanuela, Marge, Rachel and Angela, brother in laws Tim and Kuya Dingdong, Aunts Maria Fe, Eileen and Emeleen, cousins and many dear friends.
A Catholic mass will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at St. Joseph Parish in Langley from 11a.m.-12 p.m.
Following the mass, a Celebration of Life Christian Service will take place at Langley Immanuel Reformed Church from 12:45 p.m. to-2:10 p.m.
The inurnment will be held at Heritage Gardens at 2:30 p.m.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her beautiful life and sharing memories of love and laughter she brought to so many.
