Lucy Jane "Jane" Conway

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Lucy Jane “Jane” Conway (nee Tallentire) on July 29th 2026.

She passed peacefully in the Pasqua hospital palliative care unit with loved ones by her side after a determined and courageous 20 month long battle with cancer. Jane is survived by her husband Dennis, daughter Kelsey and step daughter Ashley (Dwayne) Stamnes (and their children Kelley and Rachel).

Jane is also survived by one sister, Susan Tallentire and two brothers, Kevin (June) Tallentire and David (Doug) Tallentire. She has a niece Jodi (Brian) Vibert and two nephews Brett (Melina) Tallentire and Heath (Maryse) Tallentire and several great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Aileen (Stettner) and Bob Tallentire, grandparents Myrtle/ Ike Tallentire and Alberta/ Carl Stettner.

Jane was born in Earl Grey, SK in 1950 to Aileen and Bob Tallentire. She graduated from high school in Earl Grey and eventually went on to train as an operating room technician in Regina. Until her retirement, she spent most of her working life in Saskatoon.

In 2009, Jane and her husband of 42 years, Dennis, returned to Earl Grey to be closer to her parents, siblings and extended family. After 16 years in Earl Grey, Jane and Dennis moved to Regina to facilitate treatment of her cancer.

Like her parents, Jane was committed to her immediate and extended family and always offered support and a helping hand to those who needed it. In her later years, Jane had an interest in cooking, canning, “happy hour”, bargain hunting, travel, cleaning, reading and visiting family members. She enjoyed a good laugh and kept the conversation lively. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and former work colleagues.

At this time there will be no memorial service.

In lieu of flowers or cards, you may wish to consider a donation to the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care unit or the Canadian Cancer Society.

I was saddened to hear of Jane's passing. I worked with her at St. Paul's Hospital for several years, and she was one of my favorite co-workers. She was a truly hard worker, and so very entertaining. She always had a good story to tell. She could convey a whole conversation with just her eyes while wearing a surgical mask!She was also such a calm influence in emergencies. Our hearts are saddened to hear of Jane’s passing. We had decades of friendship and fun. Jane was the first person to reach out to Dave and I when I first arrived at city hospital OR. (A gourmet cook, always!).I am especially grateful for the day we recently had in Regina. Still the same Jane. A roll of the eyes said everything!
