David Loosley
1947- 2023

Born in Woodstock, Ontario, David lived in Langley with his wife, Jorgina, for the last 50 years.
In recent years, David was an avid curler and lawn bowler. Always quite active, as a younger man David enjoyed exploring the local mountains on multi day hiking trips. He went up the Black Tusk several times and hiked the West Coast Trail in the early 1980s. In the summer of 1987, Dave and wife Jorgina walked the entire coastline of Greater Vancouver from Port Moody to UBC.

David devoted hours to volunteer interests during his life. He was treasurer for his local union chapter, his housing strata, and Penny Pincher - a local thrift store. He also officiated at quite a few Special Olympic games through the years. His community mindedness could also be seen in his attendance at many, many Langley walks.
A lover of all thing’s tech, David was usually well ahead of the curve in adopting new technology. Not only was he likely the first on his block to have a robotic vacuum cleaner, but he was maybe one of the first in Langley to have a home computer. His Vic 20 had 5 KB of RAM (a typical cell phone now has 2,000,000 KB by comparison, as Dave would have happily told you).
He is survived by wife Jorgina, stepdaughter Dahlia, grandson Malachite, sisters Nancy and Judy, and nieces Kim and Khia.
