George Murray LePard passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the age of 84 years. George is survived by his special friend Ruth Towill, his children Darcy (Ken), Cydney, Jorja (Barry), Jeff, Randy (Mary), Bonnie, Debbie, Kent (Debbie); sisters Colleen, Gwen (Fharell), brother Byrnie (Angie); sister in law Diane; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends. George was predeceased by his son Don, 3 brothers Stuart, Donald and Robert. At George’s request there will be no Service. Please join us for A Painter’s Last Splash between 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Claresholm Community Centre, 59 Avenue and 8 Street West, Claresholm, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers a donation in George’s memory may be made to Willow Creek Continuing Care, Box 700, Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.

The picture of George laughing was taken in my kitchen in N.W.Calgary. He had a great wit, a very big heart and an eye for colour like none other. His comment when I found my son was.."ya know, kid - somedays can change yer life forever!" We used to laugh about the sign on the wall in the Alano Club that said - AINT IT SWELL JUST BEING HERE? and then you would add..yeah and it don't get any better than this! I feel very privileged to have known you, George. Thank you for your humour and your wisdom.

Well George...Sorry I missed the chance to say good bye.. Meeting you, Don and Jeff is likely why I am still here today..your friendship helped me to be in a place enabling me to be part of my new found daughter's life. That drive to High River with you Don and Ted to get our backs fixed and the knowledge you passed on during the time I knew you will never be forgotten. Say hello to Don for me. I know you two are together where ever you are. My deepest condolences to Jeff, Brandon and the rest of your family and close friends. Rest in peace my friend!
