Leona Elizabeth Krassman
September 5, 2025
Leona Elizabeth Krassman (nee: Helfrich) was born on January 8,1939 to John and Louise Helfrich in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan. She was one of four children. Eilene, sister and Phil and Skip, brothers. They had a simple life growing up. Her Mom and Dad had a store where they worked hard, looked after the phone party lines and provided what they could to the local residents and the farmers. All of the children knew what it was to work together as a family in the store. Through her life she lived in Calgary and BC where she settled in the White Rock and Abbotsford area. She became a proud Mom to Sherree and Randy and a proud grandmother to “Little” Randy as he is affectionately known. She had a way of lighting up the room with her laughter that was contagious and brought much joy when she would join family gatherings. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of this beautiful lady. She passed away into the presence of the God she loved on September 5,2025 at 86 years old in Surrey BC. We now celebrate her life with the memories she left with each of us. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Upon request there will be no service. In celebration of Leona we ask that if you knew her that you share your memories with those who loved her and will miss her too. She is predeceased by: John and Louise Helfrich – Mom and Dad. Randy Steen – son. Betty Helfrich – Sister in law. She is remembered and loved by her daughter Sherree Douch (and family), Randy Steen Jr- grandson (and family), Phil Helfrich (and family) Eilene May (Lloyd and family), Skip Helfrich (and family), and all the nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
