My deepest condolences to everyone! I’ve known Lorne and the entire Leier Family for decades and I’m am so heartbroken !! Lorne was one of the good ones and gone far too soon … I stood for Lezlie and Lorne at their wedding in Saskatoon…. We have so many great memories together of our days in Saskatoon!! Shocked and saddened to hear of Lorne’s passing. Although we had not seen each other in a good many years, I still considered him a good friend and will miss him.

My sincerest condolensces to family and friends of my dear friend Lorne. We were roomates back in the day when he had his Beaumont and I was in my Chevy II. I have many fond memories from that time. Lorne was one of the most likeable people I have ever known. He and I would pick out random albums from the bargain bin that looked cool, and got some beauties. I looked some of those up recently and had a listen. Everything came flooding back about Lorne and those good times in Saskatoon. So I want to recommend one for you that we both celebrated as an under the radar hit. It's Jackson Hawke's song called Set Me Free. Wishing you a safe journey Lorne! I'll see you when I get there.

Dear Lezlie, I met Lorne when he was seven and I started dating his older brother Al, he was such a cute kid and I still remember one night when their mother went to a CWL meeting and there was a phone call and someone answered and said "Is this urgent and he said no it's Lorne" Al and I asked Lorne to be Amber's godfather even though he was only 16 and I think he was a great role model for her, even though we have been far apart for so many years please know that I am thinking about you and your Lorne Love Patti

Peace be with you, Lezlie. I was your mailman in Penticton 10 years ago. I so enjoyed frequent random visits with Lorne through the open garage. His smile and zest of happiness always made it a pleasure to spend time with him. I will remember him as a kind, thoughtful and positive man. A pleasure to meet and know.

I just heard about Lorne moments ago as my sister called to tell me our cousin Lezlie , Lorne's wife had just died It obviously saddens me hearing of both of them now gone tonight. We hadn't spoken in many years simply from busy lives but with Lezlie also now gone and reading here about Lorne from all of you brings back a lot of very good memories of, and about my very good hearted friend Lorne and his constant smiling face. I shall miss you my friend. Those days in Saskatoon now seem like just yesterday and to hear of both of your passing's at the same time just now of course certainly has me reminiscing those days At least now you two are back together. Cheers!

So I first met Lorne when I was 4 , I think dad and mom were so happy to have him complete our family. He was spoiled rotten and you would think we would be jealous of all the attention he received but we all loved him so much that it made us all happy as well. Over the years him and I had so much fun together playing football with brother Ken on Leslie Ave , floor hockey in the basement with Lorne pretending to be a Chicago Black Hawks goalie and hours of him and I playing ping pong and table top hockey until our fingers bled or our wives threatened to seriously hurt both of us at 3 in the morning . We had a passion for cars that I’m sure we inherited from our brother Merv. Countless hours were spent cherrying up what ever part needed attention to make it as perfect as we could. To say he was such a great brother doesn’t even describe our feelings of love we had for each other. I now know why he was born on November 11, so we would always keep him in our hearts and remember him always. You are now with your loved ones , pain free Love, Your Brother Ron

Lezlie and Lorne If you wanted to get a hold of Lorne you had to simply text him….the challenge was to figure out his cryptic shorthand replies. If you wanted to get a hold of Lezlie a good old telephone call was ALWAYS her preferred method of communication. She was the master of the looonnnnngggg phone calls. Making sure I set aside AT LEAST 1 hour was just about right. One of her favourite topics was finding something on sale whether it be house accessories, clothing and everything else in between. The intonation of a voice speaks immensely during phone conversations therefore I WILL MISS Lezlie’s bright laugh as she always did when answering, I WILL MISS her expressions of OUUUUUUU did I find a sale on clothes AND I WILL ALSO MISS her laboured breathing as her health declined. I imagine you two are up there having fun watching Lezlie’s favourite movies and listening to Lorne's favourite rock band as I remember seeing his fingers drumming on his steering wheel while we were cruising together in one of his classic cars.
