I would like to send my condolences to the Laplante family. I remember when I was 16 and had my first car. The motor failed on the car and I had no money to repair it and could not afford a new car. So when I brought my car to Wayne's and he told me the bad news I was crushed!! Knowing I was a young man with no car and was now really upset Wayne told me he had found a new motor for my car, when I said I could not afford to pay for a new motor and labour to install it he said "you are on Christmas holidays next week you can install it here at my shop. " I was in awe!!! So I started on the Monday and finished by the Friday. From that day on I knew I wanted to become a mechanic, I have been one now for 18 years and still loving it!! Thanks Wayne!! You will truly be a missed man!!! ~ Dustin Weber

To Lady Brigitte and the Family of Sir Knight Wayne Laplante, PGK As Master of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Alberta South District, Sandra and I wish to extend my most sincere condolences to you and the family of Sir Knight Wayne. He was a good friend, a very dedicated Knight of Columbus, an active member of Airdrie Council 8045 and SK John G. Timmermans Assembly 2632 and he will be greatly missed. It is sad to realize that death has cut short another life, the life of one of our respected and cherished members, a Sir Knight. It is indeed sad to realize that the ties of friendship and fraternal affection which bound him to our Order have been severed. In our sadness we are consoled by the thought that he, whom we knew and loved, is forever at rest. His labors are finished and a good and faithful servant has been called to meet his Maker. Our hearts go out in deepest sympathy to those who remain to mourn. Their loss is a heavy one, their bereavement great, but we ask Almighty God in His Goodness and Kindness, to console them. For those who knew Sir Knight Wayne, “We loved him in life; Let us not forget him in death”. May he now rest in peace. ~ Mike & Sandra Drewniak

Wayne was the best mechanic I could ask for. he always looked out for me, he was kind, and I really enjoyed seeing him when I'd go in with my car or to pick up my parents cars, etc. He always made me feel safe and he was great. I will never forget him laughing at me when I thought my altenator had broken but I'd actually ran out of gas. And him helping me fix my dad's car when I broke the little lock knob on the back door and thought my dad would kill me, Wayne took me to the scrap yard to fix it for 25cents! Brigitte, you and your family are in my thoughts. Lots of love and positive thoughts. ~ Jessica Cyr
