It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Vicki Leona Kwong (Whitter) passed away on the morning of February 15th, 2024 at Vancouver General Hospital. She leaves behind her life partner Hugo Landry as well as her sister Marnie Whitter Gobin, brother-in-law Glenn Gobin and nephew Tyler Gobin.
Despite her disability, Vicki was known for her amazing strength and resilience, which drove her to perform, impress and overachieve in anything she touched.
Vicki loved learning new skills, teaching and helping others in need. She also enjoyed travelling the world, volunteering, cooking and going to concerts, all of which brought much joy and purpose in her life.
“That spark!” everyone would say; Vicki was so full of enthusiasm, energy and passion for life. She had an infectious smile and her friendliness, joie de vivre and sense of humour made people gravitate towards her. Vicki had an upbeat and positive outlook on life despite not knowing how long she would be with us. This gave her the determination to live every day in the moment and to the fullest. Vicki truly was larger than life.
Your spark ignited and illuminated our hearts; you were an inspiration to us all.
Your light will forever shine brightly on the people you touched in your short journey among us.
A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at 1 PM at the Executive Plaza Hotel, 405 North Road #1, Coquitlam, BC V3K 3V9.
A donation to Muscular Dystrophy Canada in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
