Kurt Walter Muehmel

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Kurt Walter Muehmel on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the age of 40.  

Kurt will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Angela Krienke; his son, Kolten; Angela’s son, Eethan; his mother, Wendy Muehmel; his sister, Kara (Marcus); his nephew and niece, Tanner and Emily King; and his many other relatives and friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Denis Muehmel. 

Kurt was a devoted partner, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor. A skilled carpenter and talented handyman, he never hesitated to take on a challenge. 

Raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Kurt enjoyed hockey, family camping and snowmobiling trips, and time with his closest friends in Walsh Acres. 

He built his career as a carpenter and superintendent with Westridge Construction and, most recently, CCR Construction. 

Kurt treasured time with family and friends, cooking, working on projects, and, more recently, travelling with Angela. He loved adventure but was equally content at home with the people and dogs he loved most. 

Kurt loved deeply, and it showed in how he lived. Generous with his time, he was always ready to help, fix or build something, or simply be there when needed. To those closest to him, he was fiercely loyal, dependable, and truly one of a kind. 

Kurt and Angela were creating their dream home in Buena Vista with their blended family and two golden retrievers,Walter and Willis. 

Kurt leaves a void that cannot be filled. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his talent and humour, and his deep love for family and friends. 

An informal celebration of Kurt’s life will take place in Lumsden on Friday, September 18, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
