It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Klappe, with his daughter, Melanie and granddaughter, Rayna by his side.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his long time friend of 18 years; Phyllis of Delia, AB and their 2 dogs, Lucie and Humphrey; children, Robert (Stephanie) of Crossfield, AB, Melanie (Rodney) of Acme, AB, and Christopher (Tanya) of Airdrie, AB; grandchildren, (Colin James, Shawn), (Riley, Russell, Rayna), (Taylor and Caden); brothers, Tony, Gerry and Fred; sisters, Gerda, Magda “Maggie”and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father; Gerhard, mother; Hedwig, step father; Morris, sisters; Heddy and Irma and grandson Reid Malaka.
Bob was born in 1947 in Amerfoort, Amsterdam, Netherlands. He grew up in Bowness in the early 50’s, moved to Calgary in the early 60’s, then to Beiseker in the late 70’s. He owned his own siding business and was an active member in the Beiseker Town Council and Lions Club. He moved back to Calgary in the mid 90’s and later moved to Delia, AB. He was offered an opportunity to manage a local campground which he thoroughly enjoyed. He later worked in the community of Hanna. Bob was always a happy go lucky, ambitious, hard working and welcomed new opportunites. He enjoyed traveling and time with his friends.
We would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses , EMT’s and support staff at Hanna Health Centre, Three Hills Health Centre, Red Deer Regional Hospital ICU and STARS Air Ambulance, for the loving care and medical attention they gave Bob.
As per Bob’s request, there will not be a formal service but a celebration of life may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory can be made to STARS Air Ambulance, Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7 or Drumheller and District Humane Society, 1121 S Railway Ave, Drumheller, AB, T0J 0Y0.
