It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie E. King at Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, AB on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved wife and best friend of Vance Parder. Treasured mother of Brandy Jackson(Nick) of Barrie, ON and step daughters Nicholl Tate and Lauren Parder of Calgary. Caring Bonma of Jayda and Jackson Toderan of Barrie, ON and Georgette Tate of Calgary. Cherished sister of Wayne (Gail) King of Doylestown, PA, Ron (Norma Jeanne) of Hanover, ON and Brad (Sue) of Waterloo, ON. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Ruby King. A Celebration of Bon’s Life will be held at Woodcliff United Church, 5010 Spruce Drive SW, Calgary on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, #200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5 or Calgary Humane Society (SPCA), 4455 – 110 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 2T7.

Bon, you were such a fantastic friend to work with at the U. I always enjoyed our countless talks about 'our graduate student children', work (the ever increasing workload...lol!), life outside of work, our own children, lessons learned (and not learned)... I loved the fact that you called me Con to rhyme with your Bon! You always had a smile on your face and took the time to lend a listening ear regardless of how busy you were.
