Kevin Roosdahl

In Loving Memory of Kevin Darryl Roosdahl

Kevin, born December 23, 1963, in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 9, 2025, at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, British Columbia, following two cherished weeks spent visiting with family and friends. Kevin’s life was a testament to love, adventure, and devotion to those he held close.

Kevin grew up in South Burnaby, building lifelong connections with so many that crossed his path. He graduated from Burnaby South Secondary in 1981 and pursued his passion for technology at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in Computer Systems.

Kevin's career began at Ideal Software, where he honed his expertise before launching his own venture, Prestige Computer Services. Over the years, his dedication to innovation and problem-solving earned him a stellar reputation in the field. In 2012, Kevin joined the Interior Health Authority as a Senior Technical Analyst, where his work continued to make a meaningful impact.

Kevin's life was defined by his spirited pursuit of adventure and his deep bond with his beloved daughters, Celeste and Raquel. Together, they embraced the thrill of the outdoors,

sharing experiences that spanned camping, hiking, skateboarding, longboarding, boating, wakeboarding, wake surfing, indoor and outdoor surfing, snowboarding, rock climbing, and beyond. Their travels led them to breathtaking destinations, including Tofino, Hawaii, California, Mexico, and, most recently, the stunning landscapes of Iceland.

Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Wilma, his brother Steve (Becky), and his sisters Jackie (David), Karen, Joanne, Corey (Kim), Janice (Steve), Shelley (Brian), and Barb (Dale), his ex-wife, Cammy, daughters Celeste and Raquel, and many nieces and nephews which he had a loving relationship with. Kevin’s family and friends will forever hold memories of his positivity and the unwavering love he gave to all.

Kevin’s friends and family identified him as “Panglossian - characterized by or given to extreme optimism, especially in the face of unrelieved hardship or adversity”. Through this journey he never let go of enjoying each day to the fullest. Celeste and Raquel recently got tattoos in memory of his positive view of life.

Details regarding the celebration of Kevin’s life will be shared in the coming weeks. Kevin lived life to the fullest, embodying the spirit of adventure and the power of love. His memory will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Truly Kevin has been one of the most inspirational and influencing people in mine and our family's life. His sense of adventure, carefree spirit and deep devotion to loved ones is something that not even cancer can steal. He will always be a light, a joy, a source of storytelling, a role model, and a friend in many circles and my heart. I am really sad to hear this news.  I knew you over the many years, working with you, at IHA.  I could see your passion for life and for your family.  You were a great human, and you always had so much positivity and persistence to all that you endeavored.   It is a real wake up call and hits home with me, that we all need to live life to the fullest.  Life is just a game until its over.  Cherish every move you make, takes risks, love lots, be kind, be grateful... cuz I know you did all of that.   I am sorry for your passing.  My deepest sympathies to all family members.   RIP Kevin. ~ Stace Clark

I only ever had a short opportunity to work with Kevin directly, but even in small time I absolutely knew he was all about his family. Every story or conversation was about his children or traveling to see family and spent time with them, and you could hear the smile and joy in his voice when he spoke about them. It was easy to tell they held the biggest part of his heart. He will be missed by all and my deepest condolences for his family.  ~ Alison Holden
