Natalie Frances Keller-Marwood

Born to Frank and Elizabeth Jacobucci in Brighton Colorado. She graduated with Honors in 1953 taught for one year in Denver. Moved to Caracas Venesuala married her first husband and had her the first four of her five boys. They then moved to New Orleans then Corpus Christi where her youngest son Frank was born. Then moved to Los Angeles in 1969 and Calgary in 1970. Natalie was a stay at home mom and was involved with family activities but found time to work with many other orginizations. Her favourite pastime was playing Diplicate Bridge. She and her partner Ellen Marwood won their Life Masters cards together. After her boys were grown she ended up on her own and went to work! She worked as a Nanny for a year then in a candy store. She decided then to work for herself! She studied , received her Real Estate License and went to work for Totode Realty for 11 years where she was the only woman Comercial Real Estate agent in the office. She then retired; for six monthes!! She then went independent for one year and went to work with Roman Realty for another 6 years! She had been on her own for 20 years when she married Doug Marwood. They had 10 good years traveling and enjoying life. She had a mild stroke and devolped Alzheimers. She has spent the last 5 years in Care West George Boyack Care Center where she was very well cared for. She is predeceased by her oldest son, Scott of Denver. Survived by husband, Douglas Marwood; and sons, Ray and Frank of Calgary, Carl of Portland, Or. and Don of Victoria. BC. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire a memorial donation can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Calgary or a charity of your choice.

Messages of Condolence

Nat was a firecracker. I was lucky enough to interact with her a lot, singing with Trademark BBShop quartet practicing at Marwood’s every week. Nothing got by her, and she gave as well as she took with smart comments, jokes, and jabs. She told us about being a farmer’s daughter, and always laughed when one of us followed with “and all of the horse manure”. She and Doug fit together so well, and when Alzheimer’s slowly stole her away, it broke all our hearts. I will always remember the feisty Natalie before it did, because I think she would have wanted it that way. Great sympathy to all her family, and especially to my brother in song, Doug Marwood, who loved her so much. God help those in heaven, because Nat will be stirring things up upstairs like she did in her time here on earth. Rest In Peace, sweet lady.

What bad news, Nathalie was our dear friend for more than forty years. She was the warmest and most generous human being we ever met; always giving a lot of her, trying to help, cheering up, even while she was going through very hard times. She was kind enough to teach me English while I was supposed to teach her French… Thanks again Nathalie She was a wonderful Lady, lucky to marry Doug, such a devoted husband, who took care of her until her very last, We will miss her, but will not forget her. Natalie was my cousin, six months older than I. I spent many happy days with her on her parents' farm near Brighton, CO. We would walk to the lake, walk to her one-room school house two miles away, and sometimes make mud pies together. She was my favorite companion in those days. One time when we were teenagers, she and a girl friend arranged to take me and our cousin, Paul John Jacobucci, dancing at Elitch's Gardens in Denver, introducing us to teenage dating. I will miss her terribly.

So sad to hear of Natalie's passing but she put up one heck of a fight. Sonny had many wonderful years of working with Natalie and that turned into a lifelong friendship. Many a celebration was held at the house with Natalie and then later Natalie and Doug sharing it with us. You always knew that you were in for a good laugh and great conversation with her at your table. She fought her illness with dignity and with Doug always at her side. Natalie was a second mom to me for many many years. In business she taught me how to read people, when to walk away, when to stay. She was a phenomenal friend, confidente, cooking instructor, and Italian. We fought, we laughed, we learned, we taught. I will see her again; at that big Cantina in the sky; dancing on a table holding a cigarette in one hand, and a bottle of Chianti in the other. She will ask me where the hell I have been, and I will tell her I was just waiting for her to get the party started.
