Karen Ann Miller

KAREN ANN MILLER

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Karen Ann Miller, who left us on October 29, 2025 at the age of 85. Born in Rocanville, she was an independent (and sometimes stubborn) spirit who pursued her career with unwavering dedication. Her career spanned 4 decades at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, starting in an entry level position and then with the advent of computer, she became a keypunch operator (they didn’t want to hire her because she was left handed, but she prevailed) and in her final years was a member of the management team. During her working career she also pursued every opportunity to further her education. She graduated from the University of Regina in 1988. Karen was a pioneer for women through the barriers of the time.

Karen was a role model and mentor for us. She was a loving, and ever present “Aunty” to Kevin, Ken, Kelley, Barb and Rae. She spent many weekends in Rocanville with us as we were growing up. We also spent time with her in Regina, shopping, visiting her work and seeing the Big City. With Aunty Karen as an example, we saw that if we were determined, we could achieve our dreams. She quietly watched us live our lives, but we knew her love and support were always with us.

Karen found time for her passion for curling, she even curled in a bonspiel in Scotland while attending the Silver Broom. She played bridge weekly with her group of ladies. She travelled the world.

Karen was single for most of her full life. Brilliantly, she found her partner/friend Vic, and together they had 5 beautiful years together. They were fortunate to attend a beloved Blue Jays game in Toronto in September. They wore their Roughrider jerseys faithfully on game day.

I know Karen would want us to thank Vic and Linda for their loving care in the past weeks.

Karen is predeceased by her father and mother(s) (Gordon, Pearl and Wanda); her brother Gerry; nephews Kevin, Ken and Glen. She is survived by her dear friend Vic, nieces, Kelley, Barb and Rae and sister-in-law Gloria as well as great nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A graveside remembrance will be held in Rocanville in the spring.

Donations in remembrance can be made to the Regina Humane Society Inc., 4900 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK S4W 0T7
