Leonard Robert Kane

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonard (Len) Kane at the age of 84. He passed away peacefully in his home in Coquitlam on Sunday July 16th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Len will be eternally missed by his son Leonard (Len) Jr , daughter in-law Kaleena Morrison and his beloved granddaughter Jade Kane. He will also be dearly missed by Karen Kane and Valerie Dennis, step-daughter Katherine (Taft) Nasby, and step-son Rowland Taft. Len cherished his role as step-grandfather to Krystal Nasby, Tiffany Nasby and Kyle Nasby. He will also be greatly missed by his dear friends Andreas Dahl, Carmen Heaver and Drew James just to name a few.

Len was born in New Westminster BC and was entrepreneur from an early age and well into retirement. One of his greatest business achievements was founding Len’s Lift Truck Delivery Ltd in 1964 and acquiring Ranger Transport Ltd. in 1978. Len overcame numerous obstacles and became a well-respected businessman in the Trucking Industry.

Most importantly, Len was a loving, generous friend, father and grandfather. While his journey on earth is complete, Len’s spirit, strength, and sense of humour will live on through all who knew and loved him.

A Heavy Truck Convoy with Len’s Ashes will depart Saturday July 29th at 3PM from Ranger Yard; 9470 – 192 Street, Surrey, BC, take a short route, returning back to Ranger Yard

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 29th 2017 at Sandman Signature Hotel Conference 8828 201 St, Langley, BC starting at 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Len’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation or Inspire Health.

We have known Len for many many years, and he has always been so kind to our family. We've spent countless summer weeks at the green lake cabin, with fond memories and good times. Len always went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed the vacations at his cabin, and he always made sure our kids had plenty of water toys to keep them busy. I was 19 when I started dating Gene who worked for Len for the greater part of his employable life. I will always remember Len's pea pod wine, cribbage tournaments and his embarrassment at finding a girl in the driver's room after the fact. He has gone home but will never be far away. I met Len just before his 50th birthday 34 years ago. I always knew he would be important to me. He loved his son and granddaughter, Green lake and his garden, sitting around the campfire with friends eating hotdogs. He loved his old truck sun tanning & Budweiser beer, dancing, especially the polka and Merle Haggard. I will miss you my dear friend. To Jr. I want to say you did your Dad proud today. What a loss for all Len knew and cherished. From his start in trucking with a motorcycle and side car, pickup truck, then his first flat deck, building his own trailers and to growing his fleet to include Ranger Transport. From 16th and Kingsway to Pender St., Burnaby and finally Langley he came a long and awesome way. He was one of a kind and I am sure He is missed by many who crossed His path.
