Norman Jorgensen

Norman Jorgensen, late of Whitewood, Broadview, and Wolseley Nursing Home passed away at the Regina General Hospital on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the age of 94 years. He was predeceased by his wife Ann in 2010 and 2 brothers and 7 sisters. He was the last surviving member of the Jorgensen clan. Norman is survived by his sons Dennis (Carolyn) of Pilot Butte, SK and Robert (Beverlie) of Athabasca, AB. He was a grandfather to Kimberly (Greg) and Nicole (David) as well as Johnathan (Ruth), James and Joshua (Tanya). He also has 6 great-grandchildren Maksym, Anastazja, Genevieve and Felicity, Christina and Laura. Throughout his life he was a diehard farmer and a master at woodworking despite his limited vision and hearing loss over the years. He also could recite poems like no other. He loved to dance; waltz and polka being his favorites. He loved to go camping and travelled to Hawaii, Alaska, California, and the Maritimes. At Norman’s request cremation has taken place. His ashes will be laid to rest beside his wife at a later date.

Dennis, Carolyn, Robert, Beverlie and the extended family. I am so sorry to hear of Norman's passing. What a wonderful age for a man who squarely faced so many challenges. I have many cherished memories of the times he and Ann would visit Ron and Betty in Coronach, and the time he insisted on helping me with building my house. He was always cheerful and positive, no matter what the situation was. To put it simply, he was "One Good Man". I'm glad I had the opportunity to stop and visit with him a few times when I was near Whitewood. Having lost my mother this past year as well, I know what it's like to lose the last of your parents. Your Dad and Grandpa lived a long and productive life and has left you with many memories and inspirations. I hope he has passed on his love of woodworking and poetry to someone in his family. May he rest in peace. May you all find comfort in each other and in your shared recollections of life with him.

Dennis and Caroline, Robert and Bev, and all the extended Jorgensen families. We’re thinking about you on the loss of your dear dad. Our families developed a lifelong connection, right from the time we became neighbours on the farm. Hold onto all the great memories you have of your dad. My mom has lots of entertaining and humourous stories involving our two families! We have been reminiscing about some of those lately. Take care of yourselves.
