God looked around His garden and saw an empty space. He put His arms around our loved one and said “Please, come with me!”

Patricia Karen Jones (Ewasiuk) born April 29, 1969 left this earth with undeniable grace and dignity on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Beside her until the end was the love of her life, her husband, Scott.

Patricia worked as a Business Analyst and was preparing for her Project Management certification. She recently celebrated her 25th year anniversary with TransCanada Corporation.

For those that knew her, Patricia loved to travel; Maui being one of her favorite places to visit. She adored her dog Brandee who always brought her peace while relaxing. She loved spending time with her family at Flathead Lake in Montana and wasn’t afraid to jump into a cold mountain lake when the time was right. She loved spending time outdoors, especially in the Rocky Mountains of Banff and Lake Louise. Patricia had a passion for sports and was a devoted fan of curling and hockey. Her other passions included reading, scrapbooking, doing numerous crafts, gardening, baking and cooking. She spent countless Sundays preparing exquisite meals for family and friends.

Patricia had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest; she refused to let her illness define the woman she was. She was altruistic and selfless and made the world a better place for those she loved each and every day she lived. She in turn was loved and cherished by so many and will be deeply missed.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Scott Jones of Airdrie, AB; her mother, Leona Ewasiuk of Airdrie, AB; her father, Marshall Ewasiuk of Two Hills, AB; brothers, Timothy (Kelly) Ewasiuk of Calgary, AB Robert (Kim) Ewasiuk of Ardrossan; nephew, Justin; and nieces, Alexandria, Cassandra, Amanda, Courtney, and Mikayla.

We wish to extend our thanks to the staff of the Foothills Medical Center and Tom Baker Cancer Center and numerous doctors and medical staff who took exceptional care of Patricia during her illness. This includes Dr. Don Morris, Nurse Cathy Fedechko, Dr. Chris White, Nurse Roula Simmons, Dr. Erin Kennah, Dr. Jan-Willem Henning, Dr. Sasha Michelle Lupichuk, Dr. Catherine Dorrington, Dr. Karen Valentine, Dr. Peter Giannoccaro, Dr. John Klassen, Dr. Martin LaBrie, Dr. Jessica Orr, the Nursing staff at Unit 81 in FMC, and the countless other medical professionals who cared for Patricia over the years.

A Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be held at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm with interment at the Airdrie Cemetery where Patricia’s ashes will be placed to rest and a reception will follow at the church.

I had the good fortune to work with Pat for a number of years and experience how her positive, cheerful outlook on life cascaded to the work place every day. Years later our paths crossed again when Tim and I started to work together. I even had the good fortune to work with Scott. That is when you start to see the quality and integrity of the whole family. I doubt there is any family in the world that has not been impacted by cancer. Scott, words cannot express how heartbroken we are for you. We had no idea that Pat was battling cancer, so the news of her passing came as quite the shock. Although we didn't spend as much time together as we would have liked it was very clear how much you loved one another. I had the pleasure of crossing paths and collaborating with Pat on several occasions over the last 11 years at TransCanada. I remember meeting her right after I moved to the Power Accounting Group. She was so patient with all my questions and very friendly and warm. Any time our paths crossed after that time I always looked forward to whatever I was working on when I found out I'd either be obtaining information from or providing information to Pat. She always had a smile on her face, a sense of humor, and never got uptight. Pat has truly been a gift to everyone and anyone who knew her. My thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
