March 1, 1917 in Dundurn, SK – May 16, 2015 in Calgary, AB

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful ending of the life journey of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother, Irene. She loved us all with her whole heart, most especially, her youngest daughter, Shelly.

The family wishes to thank Leway and the staff at Southwood Care for the years of loving support and attention they provided.

“Think of her as living

in the hearts of those she touched

for nothing loved is ever lost

and she was loved so much.”

At Irene’s request, there will be no Service. Interment to be held in Dundurn, SK.

Grama, I wanted you to stay with us forever. I wanted to hear your voice, strong and clear. I wanted to feel your hands in mine. I wanted to smell your beautiful essence one more time. I wanted you ever near. I cannot have you always, but my memories are forever. I still hear your voice, just not in my ear. I won't be able to hold your hand, but I picture them so fine. I will always be reminded of your essence, in other places and time. What I cannot change is the void you've left behind. Rest easy Grama. Watch over us, especially our Shelley.
