1941-2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Waldron Titos, who passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 in Langley, B.C. at the age of 85.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat; his children, Larissa (Neil) and Cyndi; and his grandchildren Shawn (Jocelyn), Jessica, Julian, and Lee. He was predeceased by his sister Elaine.

John had a rich and full life, and he was deeply loved by the many people who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a supportive and loving husband to his wife, Pat, who has been by his side for over the past 60+ years and who has been a loyal and dedicated caregiver for the past 22 months while he struggled with the late stages of Parkinson’s Disease.

John was a devoted father and grandfather who gave his time, attention and love generously to his children, Larissa and Cyndi, and his grandchildren, Shawn, Jessica, Julian and Lee.

John loved to travel and loved experiencing the world. He went on fifteen cruises, travelled to Greece eight times, and enjoyed trips to Mexico and Hawaii. In 2009, they took the family on a cruise to Mexico, and in 2017 they took everyone on a month-long trip to Greece. It was an unforgettable adventure. We spent time with John’s extended family near Larisa, and made countless happy memories together. John and Pat also did a cross-Canada driving trip in 2014. 

John grew up in North Vancouver and Vancouver and spent more than 50 years as a resident of North Burnaby, from 1974 until 2024. During this time he spent many years with Cliff Avenue Soccer Club as a Treasurer, team manager, and as a soccer coach.

John was a member of the Canadian Credit Institute and a valued employee at Seaboard Lumber, where he worked as a credit manager for many years. At the end of his career, he worked at Interfor in the same capacity.

After retirement John volunteered with Hearts on the Mend at Burnaby General Hospital, providing peer support to people preparing for heart surgery. He was also a member of the FITT Cardiac Association.

John also found great joy and friendship through soccer and watching hockey. He was among the founding members of the 86ers Soccer Supporters and held season tickets from the very first season.

John will be remembered for his kindness, his quick wit, his generosity, his strong sense of fairness, and his unwavering willingness to help.

He will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created and the love he gave will remain with us always.

Family and friends are invited to share their thoughts, memories, and stories of John, which will be collected and read at the Celebration of Life being held on Sunday, October 4th at 2pm, at Confederation Community Centre in Burnaby, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada in John’s memory.
