Jenny Herlinda Wellington-Villegas passed away quietly, on October 12, 2026, at the age of 76 after several years of battling Alzheimer’s. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the beautiful life she shared with us and for the countless ways she brought warmth, kindness, and joy to everyone who knew her.
Mom was a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her generous spirit, gentle heart, and wonderful sense of humour touched the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love for the Lord was evident in everything she did. She taught us the importance of compassion, resilience, and seeking the Lord, especially during difficult days.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Alfonso Villegas and her children, Alfonso, Diana (Tim), and Jenny (Andrew). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren whom she loved so dearly, Gideon, Josiah, Reuben, Daniel, Matthew & Joy. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sonia, Teresa & Marta and her many cousins, including Isabel. She was predeceased by her parents, Julio & Matilde. Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the traditions she created, and the love she planted in each of us.
Although we miss her more than words can express, we find comfort in knowing that her love will remain with us always, that she is in Heaven with her Saviour, and that she is free from the pain and disabilities brought on by Alzheimer’s. We will honour her life by carrying forward her kindness, celebrating the moments we shared, and living with the same warmth and generosity she showed throughout her life.
A celebration of Jenny’s life will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Lifeway Baptist Church after the noon service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society or the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit in Regina, if desired.
Mom, as you watch us from Heaven, we will always remember that your love and your friendship was our greatest gift. Thank you for all the years you invested in us and all the sacrifices you made for your family.
