In Loving Memory of James Daniel Van Aert

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Daniel Van Aert of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, at the age of 60.

James will be deeply missed by his parents, his widow, his siblings, his four children, six grandchildren, and all those who knew and loved him.

Lovingly known to his family and friends as Jim, he was a true music man who loved playing the piano and guitar and, of course, singing. He was respected and loved by those he worked with and had a special way of connecting with everyone he met.

Jim walked to the beat of his own drum. His big heart, sense of humour, infectious laugh, and unmistakable personality are just some of the many things that will be forever missed.

Rock on in heaven, Dad.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 9th at 11am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 12145 Laity Street, Maple Ridge, B.C.

It was with sadness that I heard of my cousin's Jim's passing. Jim added a lot of colour to this world. He was feisty and spirited and had a mind of his own. You could always share a laugh or two when in his company. Jim had great story telling abilities and could draw you in as he recounted events. There was always a glint in his eye and a smile on his face when he was about to pull one's leg. Jim, your story is not over as family and friends remember you. Rest in peace xx

James Daniel Van Aert passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 60. He was, and always will be, a beautiful soul.James was a cherished neighbour and friend with a big personality that filled any room. He loved music, and he was the kind of person who would always lend a hand to anyone who asked or needed it. His generosity and warmth touched everyone around him.He is survived by his loving family and the many friends and neighbours who were lucky to know him. Our deepest condolences go out to all who loved him. May he always watch over them from above.
