Randy K. Holmes

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Randy K. Holmes on December 4, 2019 at the age of 68 years. He was predeceased by both parents Ken and Bonnie Holmes as well as both in-laws Oscar and Shirley Nagy. Left to treasure his memories are his wife Brenda; daughter Randi (Mike) Rieger and their children Montana, Asher, Teagan, Cheyel and Chionna; son Kyle with his children Lucas and Madelyn; sisters Heather (Robert) Deck, Darleen (Darren) Gelowitz and Tracey; brother-in-law Wayne (Jackie) Nagy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Randy was born on January 21, 1951 and spent his younger years living in both Assiniboia and Regina, Saskatchewan. Growing up he spent most of his time involved in sports and education. As a teenager he found employment with Abramson Enterprises LTD, which he continued with to become a full-time truck driver up until he fell sick in April of 2019.

Randy took great pride in his family, his grandchildren being the light of his eyes. He loved watching them succeed and excel with his own passed down traits for sports and education.

Over the years of driving Randy made many friends near and far that he held dear to his heart. He will always be remembered by his smile, quick-wit and jokes.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Palliative Care Branch of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. as a Come and Go in the Regina Serbian Club, 2775 Avonhurst Drive, Regina, SK.

My condolences to Brenda, Randi, Kyle and all family. Randy was one of the most genuine people I know. A definite straight shooter who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone he loved and cared for. I have many fond memories of Randy and he definitely saved my butt on more than one occasion. May you all find peace in knowing he is now free from pain and treasure all the precious memories. RIP Randy.

Condolences to the family. Randy and I were good friends at Thom Collegiate. We played football at Thom and went out for the Rams together in 1969. He was more than good enough to play with the Rams but decided to move on and started his work career. A great guy with a quick smile and a kind heart.

Randy and I were high school buddies. We had a lot of fun with my old 54 Chev. Randy was a very bright man. Like his dad he loved driving and had many fast cars. I was so thankful to visit him only a few short weeks ago. Our condolences to his beloved wife and family.

Randy and I also went to Thom together with Jim. We also hung out together with Reg. Those were fun days.. I used to look forward to the times Randy would call and ask me to keep him company on a trip.. He loved driving truck.. I lost touch with Randy over the years , but never forgot him.. He was a truly genuine person.. My sincere condolences to all of his family.

It's almost impossible to try and write a summary of Randy's service to Abramson's. A man of his word, we will miss his hard work and dedication. His wisdom and expertise, and he never pulled a punch if asked for his opinion. A professional driver through and through, of which can never be replaced. There is an empty spot on my fleet that can't be filled. He is and will be genuinely missed.
