It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Muriel at the age of 90 years. She was a wife, a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, a great grandmother and a great, great grandmother. She had 5 children; Edna Jones (Ken), Raymond Torgrimson (Carol), Diana Page (Len), Dennis Torgrimson (Anne) and Phyllis Bates (Rick); 14 granchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Shirley Skinner of Red Deer. Muriel was predeceased by Pete Torgrimson and Ted Helpard and also companion Bob Tribe. She is also predeceased by daughter Edna Jones and son Dennis Torgrimson; and grandchildren Jimmy Jones and Laurie Miller. Muriel was born in Miniota, Manitoba. After the passing of her mother at the age of 13, she took the Greyhound Bus to Strathmore and got a job milking cows at the age of 14. A brave and determined girl, she has lived in Calgary, Claresholm, Cremona, High River, Pincher Creek, Cochrane, Olds and eventually at the Didsbury Aspen Lodge. Our family was blessed with the care that Muriel received from the staff at the Didsbury Aspen Ridge Lodge until her passing. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes may be made directly to the Didsbury Ridge Lodge, PO Box 2290, Didsbury, Alberta, T0M 0W0.Please enter your email address to subscribe to new updates.
