Audrey Edna Helmer

Audrey Helmer life long resident of Claresholm passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Audrey is lovingly remembered by her family, daughter, Nola (Garry) Cotter; son, Barry; 5 grandchildren, Hope, Nolan (Kacey-Jo), Delane (Paige), Queley (Kaitlyn) and Martin (Michelle), 3 great-grandchildren, Tave, Jed and Oakley. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Henry; and daughter-in-law, Florence.

Audrey lived her entire life in the Claresholm area. She was a rancher at heart. The joy of her life was always her family, dogs and to be with nature.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to STARS, Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8M7. Audrey was born in the Depression and left us during a pandemic.

No Fuenral Service will be held at this time.

I am saddened to hear of Audreys passing. Many, many years have gone by since I last saw her at my father, her cousin Oscar Lundgard’s funeral, but I can still remember the summer days I spent with her uncle Albert, my grandfather on the farm west of Claresholm. She was fun to be around along with her dog Shiela and all the goats, it was a beautiful place to be. I still look at pictures now and then of her and her parents, and think of Granny Cook,, fond memories. Sincerely Gerald
