Scott Duncan Headrick

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of my dear son Scott due to a tragic accident on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the age of 47 years.

Scott was born in Arnprior, Ontario. He was the son of Edna and the late Herbert Headrick. He is survived by his mother Edna; his partner Naomi and her two sons; his daughter Chantel; Mellisa (Mellie) who was so much like a daughter to Scott, her brother Jason, and their mother Brenda Morin; his two brothers Steven and Chris; his aunt Barbara Powell; his cousins: Pam (Garry) Cameron and family, Laurie (Gene) Maclise and family, Jim (Jodie) Cameron and family, and David Cameron; his uncle Stan (Joyce) and family of Arnprior, Ontario; and his aunt Cathy Burnett and family of Arnprior, Ontario.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 1pm at the First Baptist Church, 4310 – 39 Street, Red Deer, T4N 0Z3.

Memorial donations in Scott's name may be made directly to your local S.P.C.A.

Dear Edna, Steve and Chris, You may know me as Janice Boukall, a former girlfriend of Steve's and also the Aunt to Melissa and Jason. Words cannot express our deepest sympathy to you at this time.....if I could I'd jump through this computer screen and give you all a HUGE HUG!!!! Too much sadness and loss in a short amount of time for your family. We still think of Scott as our brother in law (with my sister Brenda) and remember sitting around the kitchen table telling jokes and laughing. We will remember the sparkle in his eyes and the laughter in his heart! God MUST have needed another Angel........

I worked with Scott in the late 1990's for a local wireline company. We travelled up to Northern BC on a couple of occasions & spent some time in camp, practically in the middle of nowhere. He was a great guy with a big laugh that made work so much more enjoyable. I'm very saddened & shocked to hear of his untimely passing. My most sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Dear Edna, Naomi and family, We have worked with Scott in the Drumheller area for many years and through two company name changes. Although we did not know his family, we knew Scott very well and thoroughly enjoyed working with him. He was a wonderful asset to our Drumheller team. We learned together as a team, found him to be so well organized and one of the best consultants we had worked with over the years. I worked closely with Scott helping him establish Michichi Custom works. From the moment I met Scott I knew that I had made an everlasting friend.In the short time Scott did buisness with us at Powersource we all grew to enjoy hearing from him. Many of the operators talk about his great sense of humor and his thunderous laughter. Scott did a one week course with us last spring and the education director still talks about how much he enjoyed Scott and Steve. All of us were deeply saddened to here of this tragedy and would like to pass along our deepest condolences.

Scotty and I first met in '87 driving towtrucks. I left Red Deer in '90 and came back in '94. Met up with Scotty and he got me a job at a wireline company where we worked together for about 3 years. We lost touch after that but I always hoped to run into him again. Scotty was the definition of larger than life. Sometimes dark and scary. Sometimes philosophical. Always ready with a big laugh and a way of looking at things that let you know that here was someone with a brain. Life was never dull with Scotty around. The world lost a little sparkle this week. I'll miss ya, Brother.

Dad, My first thought everyday when I wake up is wishing this was all just a nightmare. You made me strong and funny enough to carry on without you but I often catch myself in a small lake of tears, because your weren't just my dad but my best friend. I thank you for making me the strong woman I am and am soooo happy I had all the time with you I did. I spoil Blaze just like you did! Im "wearing my dog with pride".
