Hanne Reid

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Hanne Reid. Hanne was surrounded by family as she made her journey to Heaven. Hanne is survived by her husband of 54 years, Humberto Jose Reid, daughters, Lisa Wright (Ron Wright), Emily Reid (Russ Thomson), and Laura Harris (Dwayne Harris), She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Hanne was born in Vejle, Denmark in 1947 and came to Canada in 1971 where she met her husband, whom she called Joe. They shared a beautiful 55 years together filled with children, grandchildren and a whole lot of love.

Hanne was a warm and generous spirit and was incredibly gifted when it came to sewing and photography. She had a robust online community of friends in photography forums and had friends all over the world. She made beautiful handbags, and if you were lucky, you may have received one of her handmade bears, which we called Hannebears. Although Hanne will be greatly missed, we are happy to know she has gone home to God, her mother and father Signe and Thorvald Petersen, and her brother Ruvald Petersen. We hope you are all together having a glass of schnaps.
