It is with great sadness that we announce that Alice passed away on November 25, 2022 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Florence (née Fripp), ex-husband Leonard and special grandson Travis. Alice is survived by her sons Darryl (Debbie) of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jamieson of Edmonton, Alberta and daughter Sabrina (Bob) Kusek of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jackie, Marcus, Matthew, Joel, Katya and by several great-grandchildren.
Alice was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. She was a proud Central Collegiate alumnus, graduating in 1960. She was thrilled to take part in the school’s closing reunion and relive her fond high school memories. She went on to complete studies at Success Business College, moving on to employment with Case, Cockshutt, John Deere and North American Life. After raising her family, she returned to the workforce in 1985, working in various admin positions with the federal and provincial governments. She later parlayed her soft skills into successful stints working at Sears and later Staples/Quill call centres. She was known to be a quick learner and was cited for her professionalism and commitment to meeting client needs.
Alice made many enduring friendships throughout her life, enjoying outings and coffees. She was an avid musician in her early years and enjoyed playing the piano. She loved playing cribbage and enjoyed curling. She had a passion for gardening and would often be found puttering amongst her flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed travelling and was fond of trips to places such as Manitou Beach, Cannington Manor and Ontario’s Gananoque/1000 Islands as well as visits to the U.S.A., including Tennessee and Missouri. In her later years, her interest in current affairs deepened and she became more interested in local and international politics and seniors’ rights. Alice was also fond of animals, raising many dogs and cats over her lifetime, none so special as her friends Pussums, Charleigh and Mimo.
